Have you imagined a virtual world where you can try to be anything you want, get the feeling of it, and if you didn’t like it, you can move on and try other things? A world where you can own Lamborghinis, ferraris, ducatis, even fighter Jet and have fun with your friends. Well, now you guys can do all that by joining a FiveM server.

What is FiveM?

FiveM is a Grand Theft Auto(GTA) Framework where you can modify and customize GTA 5 game environment. You can modify almost everything from the scripts to the buildings – I can say that sky is the limit for FiveM. And the best thing is, FiveM is meant for multiplayer, that means you can create a world based on your imagination and play together with your friends.

I’m gonna touch a little bit on FiveM. I can categorize the customization into two categories – scripts and mods. look at the table below for further understanding.

Roleplaying

Now, since FiveM framework can help achieve a different level of gaming on GTA5 World. One way of playing have been introduced, called Roleplaying where the objectives are to emulate a real life scenario. In roleplaying, you can choose to play as a police, doctor, fisherman, businessman, gangster etc. You can enjoy interacting with each other, from helping a friend to robbing a bank. But of course, with some rules and SOPs.

To be honest, roleplaying is not for everyone, some people might find it boring. However, Fivem is not limited to roleplaying only, there are a lot of servers that does different way of playing :- zombies, freeroaming. You can try all of that, for free. Maybe I will cover that on my next post, but now, Let’s focus on roleplaying.

Welcome To The Royal Roleplay

As a programmer, I keen to learn and explore new tools, new skills related to programming. When I stumbled upon FiveM during 1st PKP, My first ever server called Tanah Melayu RP. After roleplaying a while, I eager to know more on how to create a server where players can enjoy my work. Once I’d learned that I can use C# to develop a FiveM server, it does kick off some passion in my heart, since my favourite programming language is C#.

My first custom server was called Bandar Baru Roleplay (BBRP). I was enjoying developing the server. During BBRP era, I have developed almost 10 custom scripts. Long story short, I have to close down the server due to no solid team and I couldn’t handle the scripts and mods alone.

You need to have a good team to maintain a FiveM server

The Royal RP is known as Royal Malaysia RP (RMRP) before, I became friends with the RMRP owner (Otaiman) and during the time, he was also forming a team consist of scripts and mods developers, for RMRP. After a few discussions, and a few months of planning, I’d joined the team and that’s when RMRP is rebranding to The Royal RP.

For The Royal RP, I decided not to use C# anymore as a main language, I moved to LUA language. I’m going to explain the reasons behind that in a different post. I had developed almost 20 custom scripts for this server. If you have been on other servers, please join us and try my work, I’m welcoming any feedback.

The Royal RP is now on season 2, It has been 1 year and half but still going strong, we have like 100-150 players on average everyday.
